Smooth sailing here.
So far, so good. Steady as she goes.
I’ve seen many of y’all out on the high seas, catching fair winds.
(If you’re lost on the sailing voyage metaphor, read my letter from a few weeks back here.)
Anyways, not much to report.
I wanted to be able to share some of my learnings from my Plato readings with y’all by now but it’s taking me a while to digest it enough to write anything substantive.
I know, I know, I’m sorry. I can hear your sighs of disappointment. I know how terribly you wanted to read an essay about Socrates’ final days today.
Alas...
Actually. There is something fun to report.
I was in the studio with Brian yesterday.
We worked on the next batch of songs. Boy, are they cool. It’s so great for the songs to move through fresh ears, especially ears as tuned as Brian’s.
More on what the new EP is about in my last letter here.
Hmm…
I played a jazz tune with my friend Charlie last weekend. Check it out here.
Doxy. It’s a fun one.
Charlie is an incredible guitar player. He inspires me every time I get together with him. And I learn so much. It’s a great lesson in music: play with people way better than you!
A young buck advised me that a three min wide-angled instrumental jazz guitar number may not be the best thing to put up on the Instagram.
Oh, well. I like it. I’m learning.
Instagram isn’t so bad after all. I don’t feel tempted to scroll endlessly. In fact, I get bored after a couple minutes unless I’m collecting ideas or looking for something.
Active use is key.
I also like the idea of using it as a portfolio of sorts.
That’s all I’ve got for you today.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Peace!
Sincerely,
CLO
Fair sailing amigo
